A publicized report from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) in 2018, identified that Metacognition was one of the most effective ways to support Learner Progress , and set parameters to help schools consider how to develop it in their learners. One of the fundamental goals of The Tutor Guru is to train the student to think more metacognitively- to have a critical awareness of one's own thinking and learning helps the student get to know the self and build strengths.

Online learning is efficient and effective because it saves time and teaches real life skills while incorporating core subjects. I often hear, "My child learns better in person. He does not focus well with online learning." Online learning is not going away and requires a set of unique skills, like being a self-starter and the ability to focus, read directions and interpret material. Metacognition is the state of being aware of one's own thought process. Once your child has that, he can do anything, including online learning. It is the present, it is the future, it is at the core of communication, a bridge.
